James Brown

James “Jimmy” Milton Brown, Age 76 of 238 N. 5th Street, Albemarle, NC 28001, passed away on July 03, 2010 at home in Albemarle. Born in, Stanly County on June 21, 1934 he was the son of James Milton Brown, Sr. and Louise Parker Brown. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Caudle. Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 6, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home Albemarle Funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 7, 2010 at 2 p.m. at First Lutheran Church of Albemarle. Burial will follow at Albemarle City Cemetery, military honors will be provided by Stanly County DAV. Jimmy was the owner of Albemarle Music Store, opened by his father in 1925. He played tenor sax in the Josey Brown and Jimmy Brown Combos during the 50’s and 60’s and was an avid train enthusiast with an extensive display at the music store. Jimmy was survived by ?his wife of 20 years Carole Katherine Lefler Brown of the home, one daughter Jennifer Coleman of Virginia, and his sister Helen Brown Hobson of Salisbury, NC. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, 230 S. 2nd Street, Albemarle NC, or Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N 1st Street Albemarle NC.
