James “J.D.†Dwight Calloway, 84, formerly of Accent Avenue in Concord passed away on March 16, 2012 at St. Andrews Living Center. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Tuesday, March 20th from 1 until 2 pm. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Roxanne Almond officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by The Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard. James was born on March 19, 1927 in Cabarrus County, to the late Homer James and Ollie T. Goodman Calloway Beaver. He was also preceded in death by his wife Lorraine Calloway. James was a veteran of The United States Navy and served his country honorably during WWII. James was an auto mechanic for The City of Concord, and was owner and operator of Accent Florist. He is survived by his daughters, Rayma C. Harvey and Tamara C. Kindley both of Concord; grandchildren, Marci K. Jordan of Charlotte and Brent Kindley of Concord; great-grandchildren, Ryker, Garrick, and Zoe; a sister, Margie Jones of Charlotte and a brother, Ray M. Calloway of Concord. At other times, friends and family are welcome to visit at the home of his daughter Tamara.
