James Reece Dick, 84 years of age, of New London, passed away Monday, September 22, 2014 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Reece was born October 29, 1929 in Stanly County to the late Henry Theodore Dick and the late Annice Clarann Burris Dick.
He was member of Paul's Crossing Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge #348, he served in the US Army and retired from Coca Cola of Charlotte. He also drove for Rolling Hills Cotton Gin.
The family will receive friends from 6pm-8pm, Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Keith Walters, will be at 3pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Paul's Crossing Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Paul's Crossing Baptist Church Cemetery, 40461 Paul's Crossing Road, Richfield, NC. Full military honors will be conducted by the Stanly County DAV, Chapter 12.
He is survived by his wife, Lullie "Pat" Dick of New London; daughters, Teresa Pollock of Harvest, AL, and Lisa Young of Williamsburg, VA; brothers, Cecil Dick of Albemarle and Truette Dick of SC; sisters, Violet Keller of Albemarle, Betty Jean Scott of Stanfield, and Elvenne Biles of Norwood; grandchildren, Karen, Tim, and Mike Brown, Gabby and Bailey Young; and five great-grandchildren.
