James Edward “Ed” Thomas, 61, of Harrisburg, NC, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013. Mr. Thomas was born December 23, 1951, in Stanly County to Hilda Jean Thomas Smith and the late Phylus Jerome Thomas. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Philadelphia Baptist Church, 12495 Philadelphia Church Road, Stanfield, NC 28163, the service will follow at 4:00 p.m. Rev. Dwight Mabry and Pastor Ted Bost will officiate the service; burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include his mother, Hilda Jean Thomas Smith; loving wife, Pamela Sheryl Thomas, of Harrisburg, NC; daughter, Erin Lusher and husband William of Spartanburg, SC; sister, Patricia Thomas Scott and husband Kenneth, of Concord, NC, and grandson, William Anthony Lusher, of Spartanburg, SC.
