James Eudy

Mr. James Ray “Dick” Eudy, age 89 of 346 W. Red Cross Rd, Oakboro,NC died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Britthaven of the Piedmont, Albemarle,NC. He was born September 4, 1920 in Stanly County to the late Daniel Ellis “D.A.” Eudy and Effie Mae Hatley Eudy. He was owner/operator of Eudy’s Auto Sales and Service in Red Cross. He was a self employed farmer and served in the US Army during WWII. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Isabelle “Bell” Hahn Eudy of the home, three brothers; J.C. Eudy of Albemarle, NC, Gaston L. Eudy of Albemarle, NC, Melvin Mitchell Eudy of Oakboro, NC, three sisters; Helen E. Burleson of High Point, NC, Peggie Sue Cox of Norwood, NC, Myrtle Dean Mabry of Norwood, NC; nephew; John Bowers of Oakboro, NC, great nieces Trish Callicutt of Oakboro and Tracy Efird of Locust, NC and other nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by 4 sisters and 4 brothers. Visitation will be Saturday, January 2, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Funeral service will follow at Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel at 12 noon. Rev. Garry Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory.
