James Evans

James Deaver Evans, 78 years of age, of Oakboro, NC, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013 at his home. James was born November 17, 1935 in Bladen County, NC, to the late Richard Sandlin Evans and the late Bessie Lenora Long Evans. He was also preceded in death by brother, Richard Evans; and sisters, Mrytle Jernigan and Jennie DeVane. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at Big Lick Baptist Church in Oakboro. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm in the church sanctuary, with Rev. Jeffrey Springer and Rev. Brian Franklin officiating. The burial will be at Oakboro Cemetery. At other times the family will be meeting at the home of his son, Jamey, 1235 Grace Court in Oakboro. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Julia Huneycutt Evans of the home; son, Jamey Evans of Oakboro, NC; grandson, Cameron Evans; and brother, Bennie Evans and wife Susie of Harrells, NC.
