James Lester Fillman, 80, of Concord, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.
Mr. Fillman was born June 6, 1934 in Springtown, Pennsylvania to the late Lester and Alvena Louise FIllman.
Served his country during the Korean War in the Naval Air Corps. He was also a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology with an MBA from the University of NC at Chapel Hill.
As a Captain of Industry, he built a successful career in the printing industry as a VP of Package Products/Engraph.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will follow on Thursday at 1:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Steve Pennington.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Madeline Fillman of Concord, daughter, Barbara (Richard) Givens of Charlotte, son, James Fillman, Jr. of Harrisburg, daughter, Brenda (Bryan) Carter of Lexington, NC, daughter, Joelle (Loy) Gulledge of Concord, brother, Richard Fillman of PA, sister, Nancy Scott of FL, seven grandchildren, Michael and Christine Givens, Evan Clegg, Jack and Sam Carter, and Marris and Bentley Gulledge.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stoner-Thomas School in honor of his grandson affected by autism, Sam Carter, at 215 County School Road, Lexington, NC 27292.
