James Kenneth "Kenny" Finley, 61 years of age, of Concord, passed away Friday, January 8, 2016 at Carolina's Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.
Kenny was born March 26, 1954 in Pike County, Kentucky to the late Miller Curtis Finley and Ruby Horn Finley. He was also preceded in death by his brother Millard, Jr. and his twin sister Kathy.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be Thursday at 11:00 am at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord. Burial will follow at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens, 3892 Hwy 73, Concord.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Lea Finley; his son, Robert Smith & wife, Theresa of Concord; his daughter, Tracia Smith of Kannapolis; his grandson, Jonathon Smith; his four brothers, George, Donald, Charles "C.W." and Joe; his six sisters, Judy, Nancy, Phyllis, Rita, Sue Ella and Virginia.
Kenny had retired as a coal miner and was better known as Tattoo to his co-workers. He was known for his generous spirit and would try to help any of his friends and family. Kenny loved the CNA's and nurses where he had been staying at the last few years. "Anybody can be a dad but it takes a real man to be a father."
