James Allen Gilchrist

James Allen Gilchrist 69 of Kannapolis NC, by way of Fayetteville, NC.

James was born November 18, 1954 in Washington State to the late Florence Gilcrest. 

He was also proceeded in death by his daughter Kimberly Garcia. James served our country in the United States Army for three years where he met the love of his life and married for 44 years Yolanda Gilchrist. He retired from Goodyear tires in Fayetteville after working there tirelessly for 21 years. James was a beloved father and a devoted husband who sadly left our world and hearts on August 27, 2024. 

James lived a life of service and kindness. For those that knew and loved him knew, that he was one of the hardest working men. He touched many lives and always sacrificed for his family. This loss will forever be in the hearts of his loved ones. 

The family will receive friends and family from 3:00PM to 4:00PM on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord, North Carolina. The funeral service will follow that on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at 4 PM. Repass will immediately follow the service at the same location .

Survivors include wife, Yolanda Gilchrist of Kannapolis, North Carolina , (Son) Charles A Garcia (Peggy Garcia), (grandson) Alex, (daughter) Tracy Shavers (Alonzo) , (grandson) Chico Shavers, (daughter )Tina Green (Jerry), (grandson) Traejan, (granddaughter) Maleah, (son) Allen Gilchrist, (granddaughter )Leilani, (grandson) George, (granddaughter) Naomi. (Sister in law) Erma and her girls.
