James Donald Gordon

James Donald Gordon, 84, of Richfield, NC. passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025 at home.

Don was born January 6, 1941, in North Carolina to the late James Franklin Gordon and the late Cora Mae Gordon. 

He was also preceded in death by wife, Marie Elaine Gordon, and sister, Linda Jean Stewart.

A graveside will be on Tuesday at 2:00 pm at Solid Rock Baptist Church on Kemp Road, in Albemarle, officiated by Chaplain Brian Hackett. 

Don was a wonderful and beloved husband, father, and pawpaw. He enjoyed NASCAR, genealogy, and collecting die-cast cars. But most of all, he cherished the time he got to spend with his family more than anything else. Don was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, now called Solid Rock Baptist Church, where he joyfully worshipped sung hymns to the Lord.

Survivors include Daughters, Sherri Ann Rogers, Donna Marie Russell, Cindy Lynn Hinson, Amy Christine Russell of Albemarle, NC.; 7 wonderful grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and expecting his first great-great-grandson

Donations may be made to Gentiva Hospice of Montgomery County, NC.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the caretakers at Gentiva for their dedication and care that they showed for Don and his wife Marie.
