James Harker

James Albert Harker, age 72 of US Hwy 52, New London, NC, passed away on November 22, 2010 at Britthaven where he had been a resident for several years. James was born April 3, 1938 to the late Edward Sr. and Helene Moody Harker. James was also preceded in death by a son, Terry Harker; his brothers, Edward Jr. Harker, Ray Harker, Earl Harker, Roy Harker; and his sisters, Mary Harker Honeycutt, Annie Mae Harker Lefler. James is survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as very special friends, Ricky and Sandy Almond and family. Most people will remember James from the Service Distributing. He worked there for several years. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 24 at 10 AM at Norview Gardens in Norwood. The family will receive friends at the graveside prior to the service. Rev. Joe Smith will officiate the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. 1st Street, Albemarle, NC. Hartsell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for the Harker family.
