James Harrison

February 25, 1932 — March 19, 2018

James (Jim) H. Harrison passed into God's Kingdom at Trinity Oaks Retirement Community in Salisbury, NC on March 19th 2018. Jim was born Feb. 25, 1932 in Davidson County. He was the son of the Howell and Gertrude Hart Harrison, and the husband of the late Elizabeth Harrison. Jim was devoted to his Church and his family. He graduated from Denton High School, Denton, NC. He proudly served his country as a paratrooper during the Korean War. After the service years, Jim attended Appalachian State Teacher College. For 30 years he served as QC Manager for Gerber Products Co. of Fremont, MI. He leaves 2 sisters, Jane Alexander of Elon, NC, and Sara Lamar of Tallahassee, FL, along with 2 brothers, Pat Harrison of High Point, NC, and John Harrison of Garner, NC. Jim also leaves behind 3 daughters, Theresa Christopher of Arden, NC, Pam Wesner of Portsmouth, VA, Jimi Lynn Harrison of Shelby, NC, and 1 son: Branson Harrison of Lexington, NC, along with 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to his eclectic sense of humor and undeniable ambition to provide for his family and anyone in need, Jim enjoyed playing golf, bridge, and loved the outdoors. The family will receive friends on April 7th at 1:00 pm with a memorial service at 2:00 pm at Friendship UMC in Albemarle, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Friendship UMC at 24696 NC Hwy 73, Albemarle, NC. or the Tom's Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Denton, NC.
