James Hinson

James W. Hinson, 76, of Hillsborough, NC died early Wednesday morning, September 13, 2017 at his home after an extended illness surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Hinson was born on November 10, 1940 to the late Seburn C. and Rachel (Herrin) Hinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jimmy W. Hinson.

On January 25, 1989 in Atlanta, Georgia he married his loving and devoted wife of 28 years, the former Gloria Sawyer, who survives.

Other survivors include his son Jack L. Hinson of Ozark, AL; daughter, JoAnn H. (Mickey) LeBouef of Ariton, AL; two step-daughters, Donna A. McMillan of Carrboro, NC and Dawn A. (John) Swartz of Raleigh, NC; sister, Linda H. (Jerry) Dennis of Concord, NC. Also surviving are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with two caring nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home's, Lefler Chapel of Albemarle, NC. with Rev. Kong Namkung officiating. Interment will follow at Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive guests one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mr. Hinson to UNC Hospice Medical Foundation of North Carolina, 880 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Chapel Hill, NC 27514.

Jim will be forever missed by his loving and devoted family and many friends. May God grant him eternal rest.
