James Huneycutt

James Junior Huneycutt, 87 years of age, of Locust, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.
Junior was born May 27, 1928 in Stanly County to the late James Herbert Huneycutt and the late Katie Eudy Huneycutt.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Roger James Huneycutt, in 1993. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Jeston, Floyd, Brady, Ernest, and Charlie Huneycutt; and two sisters, Carrie Lois Hatley and Ann Hatley; and three half sisters, Elsie, Isabelle, and Emma Ann.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. A 30 minute state beginning at 2:30 pm, will be held prior to the funeral service, which will be on Thursday at 3:00 pm at Mission Baptist Church-Locust. Rev. Jeremy Hyde will officiate. Burial will follow at the Mission Baptist Church Cemetery at 12444 Mission Church Road, Locust.
Survivors include his devoted wife , Doris Alene Hatley Huneycutt of Stanfield; one daughter, Nadine (Mike) Moyle of Mount Pleasant; two sisters, Lona Mae Almond of Mt. Pleasant and Dorothy Virginia McManus; one granddaughter, Delores (Scott) Pritchard and one precious great-granddaughter, Payton Pritchard.
A member of the Fellowship Club at Mission Baptist Church and a member of the Community Birthday Club in Mount Pleassant, Junior served as custodian of Ridgecrest Elementary School for 14 years.
