James Huneycutt

James Wayne Huneycutt, 77 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Wayne was born September 10, 1938 in Stanly County to the late Thurman Wiley Huneycutt and Odell Crisco Huneycutt.
He was also preceded in death by sister, Martha Huneycutt.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Monday at 1:00 pm at West Oakboro Baptist Church in Oakboro officiated by Rev. Keith Austin. Burial will follow at the Oakboro Cemetery, 1397 North Main Street, Oakboro.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Kay Frances Huneycutt of Oakboro; son, Randy (Paula) Huneycutt; two granddaughters, Randi H. (Ken) Covington and Jessica H. (Jamerson) Mosby; and three great grandsons, Gavyn and Braylon Covington, and Julian Mosby.

A member of West Oakboro Baptist Church for over 60 years, Wayne was a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, choir member, and loved his church dearly. He was also a fire fighter for Oakboro Fire and Rescue over 25 years. After 27 years, he retired from Charlotte Pipe and Foundry.
