James Claude Stanton, II, 32 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Carolinas HealthCare System Main in Charlotte.
Mr. Stanton was born September 4, 1984 in Mecklenburg County to James Claude Stanton and Lois Joretta Stanton.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM, Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Pastor Brannon Sharpe and Pastor Brian Johnson. Burial will be at Oakboro Cemetery, 1397 North Main Street in Oakboro .
Jamie loved NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon, swimming, and horseback riding. He participated in the equestrian portion of Special Olympics. Jamie enjoyed life to its fullest. A child with a disability is like a butterfly with a broken wing - they just need a little help to be able to fly.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his sisters, Jaquenette and husband Kevin Doty of Oakboro and Marsha Zahn of Wisconsin; nephews, Dominik Doty, Samuel Doty, Shane Doty, Sean Doty and Balin Zahn, and nieces, Elle Doty, Meredith Naylor, Kyla Birkholz, Bronwyn Birkholz and Morgana Zahn.
