James Teeter

James Rankin Teeter, 79, of Concord, passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Teeter was born January 7, 1934 in North Carolina to the late Lewis and Bleasie Teeter. Jim worked 14 years at Southern Railroad as a Division Engineer. He continued his career with the Federal Railroad Administration as a Track Safety Inspector for 26 years. The family will receive friends at Pitts Baptist Church, 140 Pitts School Rd. NW, Concord, NC 28027 on Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm. The memorial service celebrating Jim's life, officiated by Rev. Scott Davis and Dr. Russell Willis, will follow in the church sanctuary on Thursday at 2:15 pm. Burial will be held at Carolina Memorial Park of Kannapolis. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Jo Teeter of the home; three daughters, Terri Clark and husband Brian of Concord, Sheri Rice and husband Jeff of Harrisburg and Melinda Fogarty and husband Pat of Crestwood, KY; six grandchildren, Ashley Clark, Travis Rice and wife Mandy,Jarrett Rice, Hunter Rice, Mackenzie Montross and Madison Montross; one brother, Jerry Teeter of Dallas, NC and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region, 8919 Park Rd. Charlotte, NC 28210 and Pitts Baptist Church Building Fund, 140 Pitts School Rd. NW, Concord, NC 28027.
