James Johnson

James “Harris” Johnson, age 82 of 40009 Mountain Creek Road, New London, passed away on September 23, 2010 at his home. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle on Saturday from 6 to 8. At other times the family will meet at his home. Funeral service will be at Palestine United Methodist Church, where he was a member, on Monday at 2 PM. Rev. David Nolan and Rev. Nick Rochester will officiate. Burial will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory. Born in Stanly County on September 09, 1928, he is the son of the late James Shellie Johnson and the late Lottie Harris Springer Johnson. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Johnson. He is survived by his wife Mary Frances Reynolds Johnson of the home; children, Brenda Harvey and husband Bob of Lexington, SC, Shirley Medlin of Albemarle, James Harris Johnson, Jr. of High Point, NC, Jimmy Esposito and wife Rhonda of Green Cove Springs, Fl, Debbie Enriquez and husband Vic of Milton, Fl, David Esposito and fiancee’ Angela Tucker of Albemarle and Kristie Edwards and husband Andy of Niceville, Fl; brother Franklin Johnson; sisters, Geraldine Corriher and husband Leonard, Christine Hitchcock and son, Ophelia Blalock, Jahala Burris and husband Kenneth, Myrtle Stone and husband Jimmy and Jane Burris; numerous nieces and nephews; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. ?
