James Robert Jordan, 90 years of age, of Midland, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at his home.
James was born August 5, 1925 in Calhoun Falls, SC, to the late Herbert John Jordan and the late Chessie Lou Bonds Jordan.
He was also preceded in death in 2009 by wife of 64 years, Anna Bell Jordan.
The family will have a private service at a later date.
Survivors include daughter, Shelley Snipes and husband Eric Hawk of Midland; son, A. Scott Jordan of Conway, SC; daughter, Teresa McInerney and husband Martin of Chapel Hill; son, Bobby Jordan and wife Glenda of Harrisburg; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
James was a WWII veteran; in 1960 he opened Jordan Upholstery in Charlotte; in 1965 he then returned to the United States Merchant Marines where he served as a First Mate Navigator for 25 years.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Jordan family.
