James Knight

James Leland Knight, 78, of Concord, NC, formerly of Lakeview, MI passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born September 22, 1941 in Greenville, Michigan.  He was preceded in death by his step-father, Alger Abbey and his mother Edna Klifford Abbey; as well as his uncle Jack Klifford.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Sylvia Fletcher Knight; daughter, Jackie Knight of Buies Creek, NC; son, Jim Knight and wife Katrina of Huntersville, NC; son, Kevin Knight and wife Miranda of Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren, Jaret, Kasey, Bayleigh, Lainey and Sadie.

Jim was a dedicated teacher and coach for over thirty years in Michigan.  He loved his family more than anything.  Jim will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

A memorial service to honor Jim's life is Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 4 p.m. at Westford United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Jeff Rushing. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
