James Clayton Lambert, 89 years of age, of Locust, went to be with the Lord Tuesday October 18, 2011, in the Lutheran Home of Albemarle Mr. Lambert was born July 23, 1922 in Stanly County. He was preceded in death by his wife Rossie Lee Hartsell Lambert in 2007; his father, Levi Ranson Lambert and his mother, Rettia Azaline Lambert. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, and a WW II veteran of the U. S. Navy. He retired from the textile industry. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 20, 2011, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Friday, October 21, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, Locust, NC, with a 30 minute state prior to the service. Rev. Charlie Littlejohn will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include one daughter Nancy Austin and husband Ned of Oakboro; three sons, Kenneth Lambert and his wife, Vicki, of New London, Michael Lambert and Pam Morton of Oakboro, Mark Lambert and his wife, Gwen, of Oakboro; five grandchildren, Chad Austin, Traci Baucom, Brandi Lambert, Kaitlyn Lambert, Clay Lambert, and five great-grandchildren.
