James Medley

James R. Medley, 89, of 36553 Mauldin Road, Albemarle, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle on Sunday, May 8, 2011 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral services will be Monday, May 9, 2011 at 2:00pm in the Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Gary Hunsucker. Burial will be at Canton Baptist Church Cemetery. At other times the family will be at the home of Billy and Susan Hathcock, 18900 Huneycutt Mill Road, Albemarle. Mr. Medley was born in Guilford County on March 15, 1922 and was a retiree of Wiscassett Mills of Albemarle. He was also a WWII Veteran. Son of the late A. Roe Medley and Ora Roxie Rash, he was also preceded in death by 1 grandchild and 2 great grandchildren. Mr. Medley is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Jewel Medley of the home; 3 daughters, Linda Hathcock and husband Arlie, Wanda Morton and husband Roger, and Freda Smith; one son Michael Medley, all of Albemarle, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; 4 brothers and 1 sister.
