James Miller

James Raymond Miller, 86, of Kannapolis, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Big Elm Nursing Center. James was born on December 10,1926 in New York, New York to the late Frank and Mary Kramer Miller. He worked many years at Longwood College in Farmville, VA. He enjoyed golfing and being outdoors and was always busy, working with his hands. In addition to his parents, Mr. Miller is preceded in death by his daughter, Phyllis H. Gaddy, brothers, Charlie and Frank Miller and by his sisters, Pearl Bub, Florence Hilton and Marie Hudson. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Patricia M. Miller; son, Michael Hallinen and his wife Nancy; seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. A private service will be held at a later date. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Big Elm Retirement Center. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Miller family.
