James Mingea

Mr. James Randolph Mingea, age 88, formerly of Midland, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Avante of Concord. He was born on April 18, 1923 in Dinwiddie County, VA., son of the late Edward Franklin and Nora Lee Smith Mingea. Mr. Mingea was a veteran of the US Army and a retired long-haul truck driver from Moss Trucking in Charlotte. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Anne Peacock Mingea and his second wife, Carolyn Thornton Mingea. He is survived by his son Tony Thornton of Midland; daughters, Laura Pelfrey of WA, Zona Peine of Charlotte, Tracy Soffa of Harrisburg, Patty Maynard of Charlotte, Cathy Nicholson of FL, and Barbara Furr of Midland; twelve grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. No services are planned at this time.
