James Mullis

James Sherrill Mullis, 77 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Friday, November 11, 2016 at Carolinas HealthCare System Stanly in Albemarle.

Sherrill was born June 23, 1939 in Union County to the late James Bruce Mullis and the late Emma Faye Thomas Mullis. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Don Mullis.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Monday, November 14, 2016 at West Oakboro Baptist Church, 16803 Silver Rd. Oakboro, NC 28129. The funeral service will be on Monday at 3:00 pm at West Oakboro Baptist, officiated by Rev. Keith Austin.

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Emma Elizabeth Mullis of Oakboro; sons, Wendell (Kim) Mullis of Oakboro and Rick Mullis of Oakboro; sisters, Marie Smith of Albemarle and Hazel Smith of Stanfield; grandchildren, Kimberly, Brandon, Christina, and Andrew Mullis; great grandchildren, Riley and Gracelyn Kinley, and Colton Morgan.

He retired from Lum's Ford after working as a car salesman for 30 years.
