James Ritch

James Madison Ritch, 83, of Concord, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2012, at home. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by the Revs. Jim Howard and Garold Roseman will be held in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. At other times the family will meet at his home. James was born on May 1, 1929, to the late James Madison Ritch and the late Maddie Hagler Ritch. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Charlie Ritch, Tommy Ritch and Marvin Ritch; and two sisters, Mary R. Coley and Ruby R. Simpson. He is survived by his wife, Sara Evelyine Smith Ritch; a daughter, Teresa R. Scarboro and her husband, Steve of Concord; two sons, James M. Ritch, III of Concord and Terry Wayne Ritch of New London; a sister, Sadie Hatley; a brother, Barron Ritch; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Ritch family.
