James Mullis

James Robert Mullis, 86, of Locust, NC passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018 surrounded by his family.

James was born October 22, 1931 in Union County, NC to the late Chonce Blanford Mullis and the late Earsel Purser Mullis.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Mullis; brother Roy Mullis; sister Lela Mullis Griffin; and brother Wayne Mullis.

Survivors include his son, Robert Lynn Mullis and wife Jackie; daughter, Tammy Denise Mullis; granddaughter Tina Mullis Downer and husband Tim;  grandson Robbie Lynn Mullis; great grandsons Mason and Cameron Mullis; sisters Edith Little and Hazeline Vanbershot; brothers Buren Mullis; Hubert Mullis; Chonce Mullis, Jr. and George Mullis; as well as good friend Ted Hinson and many others.

Mr. Mullis retired from Charlotte Pipe after 45 years of service.  He loved his John Deere tractors.  James will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Dr. Kinney Wallace and Rev. Dr. Tommy Ross, Jr.  Burial will follow at the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Locust.
