James Roberts

James (aka Mike) Michael Roberts, 58, of Locust, NC, passed away at Trinity Place in Albemarle, NC, Saturday, August 12, 2017, after a long fight due to a stroke he suffered in September 2012.

Mike was born in New Orleans, LA on March 6, 1959 to Betty Roberts and the late James Roberts. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Tina Roberts of Orlando, FL.

Mike is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 27 years, Martina (Tina) Marie Roberts; his loving daughter and his caretaker, Jennifer Nichole Roberts; his beloved son, James Roberts, Jr., all of Locust, NC; his mother, Betty Roberts; his sister, Kim Gentle, both of Stanfield, NC; several nieces and nephews, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will honor Mike with a memorial service Saturday, August 19, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. (everyone is welcome), and will also receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home, 13575 Broadway Avenue, Midland, NC.

Mike was a wonderful husband, father and friend to those he knew. He will be genuinely and deeply missed. Knowing that Mike is no longer a prisoner of this own body and no longer in the pain he was suffering has helped in our grieving.
