James Spencer

James Henry “Farmer Brown” Spencer, 69 of Concord, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Five Oaks Manor in Concord. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Hartsell Funeral Home chapel at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Rocky River Presbyterian Church Cemetery. James was born on April 12, 1943 in Cherokee County, SC to the late Coley and Myrtle Upchurch Spencer. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann McCrary Spencer. He is survived by: daughter, Penny Simmons of Concord; grandson, Charles “Chuckie” Childers of Concord; step-daughter, Chris Honeycutt of Concord; step-sons, Richard Jordan of Kannapolis, Roger Jordan of Mt. Pleasant, Mark Tucker of Concord; brother, Winston Spencer of Gaffney, SC; sisters, Shirley Shue of Yadkinville, Evelyn Spencer of Gaffney, SC, Emma Jean Cooper of Gaffney, SC; ten grandchildren: and two great-grandchildren. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Spencer family.
