James Strickland

James Avery Strickland, 77 years of age, of Concord, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord. James was born February 12, 1937 in Horry County, SC to the late Avery Paul Strickland and the late Betsy Elizabeth Strickland . He was also preceded in death by brother, Ernest Strickland. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home - Concord. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. The service will be officiated by Pastor Jim Posey. Burial will follow at the Cabarrus Memorial Gardens at 3892 Hwy 73 in Concord. Survivors include wife, Barbara Sue Strickland of Concord; daughter, Deborah (Phil) Smith of Holly Springs; daughter, Sandra Beam of Salisbury; son, Michael (Diana) Strickland of Kannapolis; four sisters, Nell Howery, Doris Seabrook, Betty Skipper, and Margaret McCoy; two brothers, Randy and Doug Strickland; four granddaughters, Kimberly and Elizabeth Smith, Alison and Emily Strickland; and grandson, Jeffrey (Tara) Berrier.
