James Townsend

James Lawrence Townsend, 67, of Stanfield, NC passed away on March 3, 2011 at his home in Stanfield. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home Sunday, March 6 from 6-8 PM. The service will be held in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel Monday, March 7 at 2 PM. Rev. Frank Thompson will officiate the services. Military rites will be conducted by the Stanly County DAV. Mr. Townsend was born in Westmoreland County, PA to the late John and Elizabeth Townsend. He was a member of God’s Church in Badin. He worked at Michelin in Production and was also in retail and sales. Mr. Townsend is survived by his wife, Debra Kathleen Townsend of the home; sons, James Townsend Jr. of Salisbury, Brian Scott Townsend of China Grove, Jeremy Alexander Townsend of Stanfield, Joshua Lance Townsend of Albemarle; daughter, Patricia Ann Townsend of Kannapolis; brother, Thomas Henry Townsend of Ohio; sister, Rebecca Lynn Dodge of Ohio; and eight grandchildren.
