James Waters

James Ray Waters, 75, of Concord, NC passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020 at his home.

Jim was born November 1, 1944 in Forest City, NC to the late Adam and Pearl Waters.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, George Waters.

Survivors include son, James Christopher Waters and wife, Tracy; son, Michael Shea Waters and wife, Anita; son, Wesley Aaron Waters and wife, Ayesha; daughter, Heather Rae Waters; grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Grant, Kassi, Aaron and Caroline; and multiple great grandchildren; sister, Myrtle Logan and husband, Ernest; sister, Geraldine Harris and husband, Johnny; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam.  When he left service, he had reached the rank of sergeant and awarded a Purple Heart.  Jim worked approximately 30 years for Bell South as an accomplished technician.  He was well known for his sense of humor and his ability to never meet a stranger.  Jim will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Jim will be laid to rest during a private committal service with military honors at Salisbury National Cemetery.
