James Wright, Sr.

James B. Wright, Sr., 70, of Albemarle, formerly of Indian Land, SC, passed away at home on Wednesday, January 17, 2018.

JB was born June 4, 1947 in La Follette, TN to the late Vonley and Maudie Wright.  He is preceded in death by son, Jason McLain Wright, father-in-law, Hugh McLain, brother-in-law, Chip McLain, nephew, Will Wilson, and daughter-in-law, Leslie Everhart Wright.  He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Debbie Wright, son JB Wright and wife Jenn of Locust; sisters Doris (Lynn) Nelson and Sandra (Chuck) Snodderly; brothers Ralph (Edna), Tommy (Ellen), and Sandy Wright; sister-in-laws, Jerry (Conrad) Wilson, Jakie (Mike) Long, brother-in-law, Sandy (Joanie) McLain, mother-in-law, Betty McLain, and numerous nieces and nephews.

JB worked for Duke Energy for 27 years before taking early retirement.  He went back to work with Bartlett Nuclear and DZ Atlantic for another 13 years, serving in various positions throughout the companies.  JB was an avid golfer, an excellent story teller who possessed a wicked sense of humor, and he loved his home state of Tennessee.  He was happiest at the mountains or on the lake with his family by his side.  He will be truly missed by his loving family and all those that were blessed to call him a friend.

A celebration of life will take place at 2 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Fort Mills Hwy, Indian Land, SC 29707.
