James (Jim) Edward Dawson, 72, of Albemarle, unexpectedly passed away Friday, April 2, 2021.
Jim was born April 9, 1948 in Barberton, Ohio to the late Glenn R. Dawson and the late Viola Whitney Dawson. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Glenna, Charlene, Karen and Rebecca; and his brother Daniel.
Jim was a 1966 graduate of Barberton High School. After graduation he entered the military and honorably served his country in the United States Marine Core during the Vietnam War.
Jim was a proud retiree of Michelin Aircraft Tire Company. In his spare time he enjoyed playing a round of golf and a card game with friends, but he was most passionate about spending time with his family. Jim was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Tillery Tradition Country Club, and Parishioner of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church.
The family will have a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 416 North Second St., Albemarle, officiated by Father Peter L. Fitzgibbons. A luncheon will follow in the Family Life Center.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Barbara Dawson; daughter, Kelly Brake; sons, Michael Fullerton, Robert (Amy) Dawson, James (Heather) Dawson, and Dan (Holly) Dawson; daughter, Shannon (Tom) Pasternak; grandchildren, Brandon, Cameron, Addyson, Maelynn, Zella, Roman, Riley, Madison, Brianna, Jimmy, Tyler, Danielle, Dalaney, Nicole, and Erica; brother David; sisters, Barbara, and Shirley; brother-in-laws, George, Pepper (Michele), and Tony; sister-in-laws, Elvi (Nils), and Tookie; and many nieces and nephews.
