Jan Hartsell Burris

Jan Hartsell Burris, 68, of Midland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

Jan was born September 4, 1955 in Charlotte, NC, to the late Joe Ellis Hartsell and the late Ruth Ann Morrison Hartsell. She was also preceded in death by her son, Daniel Eugene Hampton.

Jan loved the Lord. She was a member of Bethel Church, Midland, where she also enjoyed singing in the choir. She enjoyed working outside and in her garden. She would love trips to the beach. She recently spent precious time with her daughter and granddaughter at Myrtle Beach. Jan was very energetic and kind. She was a big NASCAR fan. She was also a fan of Harry Gantt and Joe Montana. Most of all, Jan dearly loved her family. She will be forever loved and greatly missed.

Survivors include daughter, Ashley Ann Hampton of Midland; granddaughter, Peytan Leigh Hampton; sister, Vickie Hartsell Clontz of Midland; nephew, Shane Hartsell; cousins, Robin Blackwell, Wanda Hill, Cheryl Bennett; and several other extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:45 pm, Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Bethel Church, 12700 Idlebrook Rd, Midland, NC 28107. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Jeremy Brackett. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
