Jane Toomey

Jane Smith Toomey, age 76 of 12701 West Ave., Apt. 1512, San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Albemarle, passed away on February 08, 2011 at Churchill Senior Living in Mooresville. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle on Friday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The funeral service will be in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel on Friday at 2:00 PM. Rev. Roger Thomas will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park. She was a kindergarten teacher at Mt. Pleasant Elementary for 20 years and a past member of 1st Baptist Church in Albemarle. Born in Stanly County, NC on March 19, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Charlie B. Smith and the late Madeline Jordan Smith. She was also preceded in death by a son Joseph Kevin Toomey. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Toomey of San Antonio, TX and granddaughter Lindsay Jane Ramos of Dallas, TX.; sister, Maitland Harwood of Albemarle and nephew, Joe Harwood of Cornelius.
