Janet Almond

Janet Barbee Almond, 78 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Trinity Place.

Janet was born November 28, 1936 in Stanly County to the late Jonah Phillip Barbee and the late Dora Austin Barbee. She was also preceded in death by husband, Joel Ollie Almond, and sisters Clara Coley and Ruth Almond.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM , Monday, June 22, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle . The funeral service will be at Lakeview Baptist Church, 32496 Pennington Road, Albemarle, on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 3:00 PM officiated by Rev Tab Whitley. Burial will follow at Plyler Baptist Church Cemetery, 25972 Austin Road, Albemarle.

She is survived by her sons, Joel Phillip "Joe" and wife Alisha Almond, and Larry Dean and Krista Almond both of Albemarle; daughters, Peggy and husband David Barringer of Albemarle, and Rebecca and husband Bruce Jones of China Grove; sisters, Martha and husband, Floyd Eudy, and Marie and husband Ralph Eudy both of Albemarle; brother, Kenneth and wife Billie Barbee of Albemarle; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
