Janice Guffey

Janice Marcell Guffey, 76, of Mount Pleasant, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022 at  in Mount Pleasant.

Mrs. Guffey was born December 10, 1945 in Marion, North Carolina to the late Herman Earl Harklerode and the late Pearl Edith Johnson Harklerode.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd Hicks Hardin; her son, Shawn Guffey and numerous brothers and sisters.

Janice was a dedicated nurse and worked in the profession for thirty-two years. Twenty years was spent at Northeast Hospital in Concord and twelve years at Rutherford Hospital.
She loved her Lord, her family, all her many friends and acquaintences. Janice also had a real passion for gardening and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant

The family will receive friends from 10 am to 11 am on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord, 460 Branchview Drive Concord, NC 28026. The funeral service will be in the chapel and officiated by Reverend Mitchell Wilson. The Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park Kannapolis at Hwy. 29N at I85, Exit 58, Concord.

Survivors include husband of thirty-five years, Garry Edwards Guffey of Mount Pleasant, NC, son, Lloyd Allen Hardin (Casandra) of Rutherfordton, NC, Daughter, Jennie (Sissy) Cruse. A special son, Van Harklerode (Manuela) of Louisiana; daughter, Elaine Sprouse (Scott) of Rutherfordton, NC, son, David Hardin of Myrtle Beach, SC, son, Tony Hardin (Angel) from Germany. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great- grandchildren. nieces ,nephews, and bonus children.
