Janice Smith

Janice Maurine Smith, 68, of Honolulu, died September 17, 2012 at Kuakini Medical Center after a short struggle with double pneumonia and a two decade plus valiant fight against Multiple Sclerosis. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 4 at 1:00 PM at Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 22182 Canton Road, Albemarle. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ola Mae Herrin Hinson, and her daughter in law, Milagros Piatos Brown. Janice was born November 24, 1943, in Stanfield, NC and was a proud graduate of the Ridgecrest School system. She had a career as both a Legal Secretary at a prestigious Charlotte law firm, and as an Executive Secretary at several major companies in Charlotte, to include Arnold Palmer Cadillac and Wachovia. Janice is survived by her son, Todd Brown, and granddaughters, Jasmine and Alexandra Brown, of Honolulu; and her beloved brother, Larry Smith and his wife Brenda and her older brother, Gareth Smith and his wife Judy, all of Locust. Janice had a deep and abiding love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and she has finally joined Him now in Heaven. Arrangements are by Moanalua Mortuary in Honolulu and Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle.
