Janice Eudy Smith, 70, of 16905 Five Point Rd., Locust, died January 23, 2010, at her home. She was born on Nov. 6, 1939, in Stanly County. The visitation will be from 6 PM to 8 PM on Monday, Jan. 25, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral will be at 2 PM on Tuesday, Jan.26, at Bethel Baptist Church in Locust, with the Rev. Charlie Littlejohn officiating. The burial will be at the church. She was a folder in textiles. She retired from Michelin Aircraft Tire in Norwood. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother who loved her church, Bethel Baptist. The family wishes to give special thanks to Hospice of Stanly County. Survivors include her sons, Alan Smith and wife Toni, of Locust, and Lanny Smith and wife Cathy, of Concord; daughter Anita Thompson and husband Mike, of Locust; grandchildren, Amanda Russell and husband Ryan, Zachary Smith, Russell Smith, Kelsey Smith, Johnathan Thompson, Brandon Thompson, and Taylor Thompson; brother Leo Eudy, of Locust and sister Margie Eudy, of Locust. She was preceded in death by her husband A. Ray Smith, father Hobert Garrett Eudy, mother Flora Mae Moyle Eudy, brother Von Eudy and sisters Ethel Morgan and Beulah Williams.
