Janie Tedder Meacham, 84, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, May 2, 2024, in Locust.
Janie was born January 6, 1940, in Troy, North Carolina to the late Thaddeus Rolan Tedder and the late Mary Leona Robinson Tedder. She was also preceded in death by her devoted husband of 64 years, Jerry Guyton Meacham, son, Jerry Todd Meacham, sister, Beckey Stoker Wallace, and niece, Jessica Russell.
Janie loved flowers, gardening, listening to music, and hosting events. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved taking care of her family.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 1 pm-2 pm at Lee Park Baptist Church 2491 Morgan Mill Rd, Monroe, NC 28110. The funeral service will follow at 2pm, officiated by Dr. Steve Jirgal. Burial will follow at the Shiloh Advent Christian Church Cemetery at 3601 Sikes Mill Rd., Monroe.
Survivors include sons, Michael Scott Meacham, Ryan Elliot Meacham and wife Cynthia; grandchildren: Elizabeth Clark and husband Robert, Alexander Meacham, Jonathan Meacham, and Nathan Meacham. Brother Bill Tedder and wife Pat, sister Susan Peterson, brother Robbie Tedder and wife Nancy, brother-in-law, Freddie Wallace, nieces; April Wallace, Melanie Wallace, and Bethany Tedder, nephew Brian Peterson and wife Valerie and also great nieces and nephews.
In honor of Janie's Memory family request flowers be sent to Hartsell Funeral Home, 522 N. 2nd Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
