Janie Purser

Janie Remerle Austin Purser, 77, of Stanfield, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury. She was born June 4, 1936 in North Carolina to Gillian Austin and Fannie Elizabeth Helms Austin, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth "Tiny" Harold Purser in 1996, one brother, and one sister. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Monday, October 14, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Red Cross Baptist Church in Oakboro officiated by Rev. Garry Baker and assisted by Rev. Josh Fraley. A 30 minute state will be held prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Red Cross Baptist Church Cemetery at 18040 Ridgecrest Road, Oakboro. Survivors include son, Kenny (Janet) Purser of Advance, NC; brother, Lloyd (Dianne) Austin of Albemarle; sisters, Jean (Guy) Simpson of Oakboro and Louise Aldridge of Aquadale; grandsons, Beau and Chase Atkinson; granddaughter, Eliza Purser; and special nephew, Stoney Mabry.
