Jason Jones Freeman, 87 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at his home.
Jason was born November 26, 1926 in Stanly County, North Carolina to the late Clarence Alexander Freeman and the late Margaret Ada Poplin Freeman. He was also preceded in death by brother, Robert Freeman; and sisters, Laura Herlocker, Matha Huneycutt and Alice Hatley.
He proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II. Prior to his retirement, Jason was self employed as owner/operator of Freeman Construction, a member of the Woodmen of the World for over sixty years and a faithful member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 25, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Robert Cauble on Friday, September 26, at 11:00 a.m. in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Flora Belle Page Freeman of Albemarle, NC; sons, J. R. Freeman of Bulverde, TX and Alan D. (Robin) Freeman of Woodlands, TX; daughter, Sue Freeman (Todd) Kimrey of Albemarle; grandsons, Jason P. Freeman, Zach A. (Kim) Kimrey and Colton D. Freeman; granddaughters, Caroline B. Kimrey and Kaylee E. Freeman; great-grandson, Tanner E. Kimrey; brothers, Chessie Freeman of Troy, NC and Gerald Freeman, of Charlotte, NC.
