Jay Gilmore

Jay Alan Gilmore, 56 years of age, passed away Friday, August 16, 2013 at his residence in Oakboro. Alan was born March 23, 1957 in Stanly County to the late J. D. Gilmore and Alta Lee Smith Gilmore of Strasburg, VA . The family will receive friends and have a memorial service from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Monday, August 19, 2013 at their home, 520 Smith Grove Road, Oakboro. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Tammy Sue McLaurin Gilmore of Oakboro; son, Jacob Gilmore and daughter, Cassie Morrow and husband, Will, all of Oakboro; grandson, Liam Morrow; sisters, Patty Deaton of Oakboro and Suzanne Smith of Troy. Memorials may be made to W. J. Morrow Trust, C/O Wells Fargo, Locust, NC. Hartsell Funeral Home is serving the Gilmore family.
