Jay Warren Tomberlin, age 64 of 5708 Unionville Road, Monroe, NC passed away on November 23, 2009 at CMC Main Charlotte in Charlotte. Born in Monroe, NC on December 28, 1944 he was a son of the late Wriston Lee Tomberlin and the late Flora Mae Rushing Tomberlin. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Tomberlin. He was an expeditor for Pennsylvania House for 40 years. Surviving are son, Marty W. Tomberlin of Indian Trail; daughter, Amy Purser and husband Byron of Monroe; two grandchildren, Nathan Torres and Alexandria Purser; three brothers, James Tomberlin of Mint Hill, Buster Tomberlin of Midland and Wilburn Tomberlin of Monroe; sisters; Flora Little, Deane Simpson, Peggy Hinson, Doris Greene, Faynelle Greene and Kay Kiker all of Monroe. He is also survived by a very special friend, Wanda Foxx of Indian Trail. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 27, 2009 from 06:00 PM 08:00 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. Funeral service will held on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Hope Second Advent Christian Church with Rev. Brent Carpenter and Rev. Billy Mobley officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Advent Christian Church Cemetery in Monroe. Memorials may be made to Hope Second Advent Christian Church,6804 Morgan Mill Road, Monroe, NC.
