J D Huneycutt, 68 years of age, of Oakboro, NC, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Trinity Place in Albemarle. J.D. was born on November 19, 1944 in Cabarrus County to the late Bruce and Mary Ruth Honeycutt. He was also preceded in death by his brothers; Mike, Edward and Wade Honeycutt. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 27, 2013, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service will be held at Berea Baptist Church on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at 4:00pm and will be officiated by Rev. Keith Austin and Rev. Andy Molatch. Burial will follow at Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church Cemetery. At other times the family will be meeting at the home place. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Frances Ellen Smith Huneycutt; one son, Gary D. Huneycutt and wife, Judy; one daughter, Rita Huneycutt Christy; grandchildren, Eric and Felica Christy and Amanda Hatley; great-granddaughter, Kayleigh "Rosebud" Shoe; brothers, Boyd, Hugh, Herman and Dewey Honeycutt; sisters, Mary Smith, Johnsie Helms and Irene Sanders. Hartsell Funeral Home is serving the Huneycutt family.
