Jean Grantham

Jean Ruth Lisenby Grantham, 89, of Oakboro, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 at her home.
Jean was born April 5, 1928 in Stanly County to the late James Franklin Lisenby and Polly Estelle Hathcock Lisenby. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Laston McCullen Grantham, who passed away in 1963; and brother, Frank Lisenby.
There are no services at this time.
She is survived by her sons, James Thomas Grantham of Harrisburg, Laston "Mac" McCullen Grantham, Jr. and Darlene of Clover, SC; grandchildren, Amanda Grantham Sexton and husband, Tim of Clover, SC, Kelly Grantham of Weaverville, James T. Grantham, Jr. of Barksdale Air force Base, LA; and great-granddaughter, Ella Sexton of Clover, SC.
Jean was a dedicated teacher for 45 years, teaching in both the Stanly County School System and Stanly Community College. She was especially passionate about teaching adult continuing education. Jean was also an avid reader and loved to do crossword puzzles and travel.
