Jennifer Powell

Jennifer Powell, 32, of Concord, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Tucker Hospice House after a courageous three year battle with cancer. A Memorial service will be held at Concord Christian Church, 3101 Davidson Highway, Concord, NC, on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Jennifer was born on June 25, 1979, to Bobby “Joe” Powell and Sandra Ann Paesch Powell. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a daughter, Kinsley Walker of Concord; a sister, Stephany Powell of Pinnacle; paternal grandmother, Barbara Ann Powell of Mocksville; maternal grandparents, William E Byrd and Lois Paesch Byrd of Florida; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; special caregivers, her aunt, Janice Burris of Concord and cousin Crystal Wakeland of Mooresville. Miss Powell graduated from Davie County High School in 1997 and was a graduate of UNC Charlotte. She was a loving mother, daughter and friend who made a difference in the lives of others with her courage, dedication and strength. She inspired many through her active participation with Focus on a Cure Breast Cancer Foundation and as spokesperson for Relay for Life. Through her active participation in these organizations, her legacy will live on. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the cancer organization of one’s choice or to The Kinsley Walker Trust Fund 234 Honeysuckle Creek Loop Mooresville, NC 28117.
