Jeremy Hawkins

Jeremy Connor Hawkins, 21, of Concord, passed away Friday, December 2, 2022, at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital in Concord. Jeremy was born April 25, 2001, in North Carolina to Chris and Wendy Hawkins.

He was also preceded in death by his grandfathers Timothy Hawkins and Mike Schoeneck, Aunt Kim Engle and brother Brandon Hawkins.  Survivors include parents Chris and Wendy Hawkins of Concord, NC. Grandmothers Janis Schoeneck and Ruth Hawkins, Uncle Mike Hawkins and beloved cousins.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord.

Jeremy attended Cabarrus County Schools(Odell Elementary, Harris Road Middle and Cox Mill High), where school became the highlight of his days. Jeremy enjoyed music and started band in middle school as a percussionist and continued throughout high school. Band was Jeremy's passion and he could be found during home football games playing the cowbell (loudly and with a huge smile).  Jeremy's favorite activities were Beyblades, Power Rangers, he listened to Harry Potter enough to be a trivia master and often could be heard belly laughing to Sponge Bob episodes. He was a huge Carolina Panthers fan especially if they were winning!

Jeremy had Juvenile Batten Disease but he didn't let it define who he was despite its devastating symptoms. He was very sweet and sensitive although he was also ultra competitive and had a strong will. His laugh, smile and personality attracted people to engage with him.
