Jerry Auten

Mr. Jerry Wayne Auten, 66, of Concord, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at his home. He was born December 15, 1943 in Cabarrus County to the late Horace Auten and Virginia Cress Auten Nance. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens with Rev. Nathan King officiating. Jerry was a veteran of the US Army and a member of Glorietta Baptist Church. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to his caregiver and special family friend, Hazel Brooks, during his illness. He is survived by sons, Michael Todd and Eric Auten, both of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Kristy Auten, of Concord; brother, Don and wife, Edith Auten, of Concord; sisters, Shelby and husband, Ken Cox, Shirley and husband, Harvey Lyerly, and Joyce Howell, all of Concord.
